At Before You Bid (BYB), we exist to make pre-purchase data more accessible to residential home buyers (think building, pest inspection and strata reports).
We are passionate about changing the landscape, and don’t want you wasting too much cash on properties you might miss out on.
With BYB, we help you spend only what you need before making an informed bid.
Our Story
Rhys and Jordan Rogers
BYB was co-founded in 2015 by brothers, Rhys and Jordan Rogers.
Rhys, CEO, saw the need to reduce the cost of inspection reports first-hand in his previous role at an accounting and restructuring firm. “I was seeing different interested buyers in a property purchasing what was essentially the same report multiple times, and all the time and money wasted with the process”. Rhys knew there was a better way and after eight years, left his job to launch the business.
After a long career at Commonwealth Bank and UBS, Jordan joined BYB full-time as COO in early 2020. It’s quite the family affair, and the boys genuinely love working together.
BYB has now grown to over 20 staff, and provides jobs to a further 250+ inspectors on the BYB panel. The company sold over 25,000 reports in the last year.
The BYB team is passionate about using technology to provide the highest quality property reports at a reasonable cost.
